Washington (Daily Pakistan Online) The Daily Star report states that repeatedly thanking an AI robot like ChatGPT can cause unnecessary energy consumption. A LinkedIn expert has warned that processing even a short sentence like "thank you" consumes as much energy as giving a full response.
For this reason, users are being advised not to thank the chatbot repeatedly in order to save energy.
This report has come out at a time when criticism of ChatGPT's energy and water consumption is increasing. On a daily basis, ChatGPT uses the same amount of electricity as millions of homes and each conversation also consumes a significant amount of water. In addition, the CEO of OpenAI has also said that the company's electricity bill has increased by several million dollars due to the polite conversations of users.
Experts say that AI's energy consumption may increase further in the coming years, which is likely to increase the problems of water and electricity shortages. Therefore, instead of repeatedly saying thank you, users are now being advised to adopt a short and effective approach to reduce waste of resources.
