Government announces major initiative to develop Bitcoin mining and AI data centers
Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) The government has announced the allocation of 2,000 MW of electricity for the development and promotion of Bitcoin mining and AI data centers.
Private TV Geo News reported that according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the project aims to make surplus electricity profitable, create high-tech jobs, attract billions of dollars in foreign investment and significantly increase government revenue.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that this strategic initiative will help Pakistan in its digital transformation journey by converting surplus energy into innovation, investment and international income and fully utilizing its economic potential.
In this regard, Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, said that this initiative can make Pakistan a global crypto and AI powerhouse.
It should be noted that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, which you can also call a digital currency, but it is different from currencies used around the world because there is no authoritative financial institution to control it.
