charge a mobile phone battery to 100%, Is it OK ?
Experts say that charging a mobile phone battery to 100 percent every day gradually reduces battery life.
Zhou Yangwang, director of the Electrochemical Engineering Center at Penn State University, says that if you charge a battery to 100 percent, it will deteriorate rapidly.
While Dibakar Dutta, an associate professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, believes that keeping a mobile phone fully charged keeps the battery at a high voltage, which is harmful.
Zhou Yangwang said if charging the mobile to 100 percent continuously compared to 90 percent,it will reduces battery life by 10 to 15 percent.
Before battery problems arise, most users probably upgrade their mobile phones for reasons such as a bad screen or old camera quality.
Although charging to 100 percent is not good, it is not something to be avoided completely.
Zhou Yangwang advises that if you need an extra battery while traveling or for any other reason, it is okay to charge it to 100 percent, but not to do it every day. For daily use, charge it to 85 to 90 percent.
Dibakar Dutta warns that you should not regularly take it to 0 percent, but only put it on charge when it is 20 percent.
According to Zhou Yangwang, charging the battery to 100 percent in high temperatures can be harmful, while fast charging generates heat that reduces battery life over time.
